Rebecca Rice-Wilson massage her client.

Rebecca develops custom massage sessions with her clients.

I love it when my clients tell me that they have been able to return to activities that they enjoy but have not been able to do because of chronic pain or injury. Whether it is from an accident, an injury, or overuse, pain and limitations that cause us to stop doing the important activities in our lives is so unfortunate. Often, through our collaborative work, we can develop a treatment plan that will help you get back to the lifestyle that you most enjoy.

New client massage appointments

For new clients I will spend extra time assessing your particular situation to determine the specific details that are causing you to feel pain or limited movement. This assessment includes identifying where and when you experience pain, looking at your mobility and range of motion, identifying what activities and movements make things better and what makes things worse, and then discussing desired outcomes.

Once I have a clear understanding of your particular situation, then we will begin the bodywork. Each case is different, and each person is different, so every massage is customized based on the specific needs and details of your unique situation. Experience has taught me that we always need to expand our treatment beyond the immediate pain or area of immobility, so I am always assessing how well the musculoskeletal system is working and stabilizing. For example how the right side of the body compares with the left, or how well the upper and lower parts of the body are working together. I always expand my focus beyond the immediate pain or immobility area, because just chasing the pain usually leads us to a dead end. And pain is not always where the problem lies.
